2. Preparation of Spray Suspension
Method I:
All components (Kollicoat IR Pigments) are stirred to gether into the
specified amount of water. The resulting suspension is homogenized using
an Ultra-Turrax. The spray suspension must be stirred during the spraying
process to avoid sedimentation of the pigments.
Method II:
Polymer Solution :
Kollicoat IR is dissolved in the specified amount of water.
Pigment Suspension:
Pigments (iron oxide, color lake, titanium dioxide, talc or kaolin), are
intensively stirred into the specified amount of water and homogenized in
a corundum disk mill or using an Ultra-Turrax.
Spray Suspension:
Incorporate the pigment suspension into the polymer Solution with stirring.
The suspension must be stirred during the spraying process to prevent
settling.
